Paper led by quantum software engineering Will and Mike, with alum Thomas Lively and rockstar postdoc Johannes Flick, on qubit allocation is on the arXiv. Our paper shows a new qubit allocation algorithm that combines the best of simulated annealing method with local search of the solution space using Dijkstra’s algorithm. We look forward to developing optimized compilers that leverage this algorithm in the near future!
