Scott Nie

Graduate Student

Scott joined the NarangLab in the winter of 2022 as a graduate student. He received his B.S. in Chemical Biology and B.A. in Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. At Berkeley, Scott worked as an undergraduate researcher in the Whaley group, studying quantum error correction and investigating improvements to topological codes. He is interested in all topics related to quantum information science.

At UCLA, Scott has worked on developing a method for polaritonic chemistry calculations on quantum devices. He will continue to research in discovering ways to enable computational chemistry on quantum computers in the near term.

Outside of the lab, Scott loves to watch anime, play games, and drink too much boba.
