Dr. Qun Yang

Postdoctoral Fellow

Qun is a postdoctoral fellow in Narang Lab at UCLA, funded by the Otto Hahn Award from the Max Planck Society. She received her Ph.D. in November 2021 from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Germany and Technische Universität Dresden under the supervision of Prof. Claudia Felser. From June 2022, she spent a one-year research stay in the group of Prof. Binghai Yan at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Her research interests focus on 1) the theoretical study of topological and chiral catalysis in quantum materials, which is an interdisciplinary research and requires a new perspective to understand the physical properties of materials and the catalytic processes involved, 2) the exploration of new quantum properties and induced electron transport in chiral quantum materials, such as the unconventional magnetoelectric effect and chirality-induced spin selectivity, and their potential links to catalysis.
