Dr. Peter Udvarhelyi joined the NarangLab in February 2024 as a postdoctoral scholar. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary. Before joining the NarangLab, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Adam Gali’s group at Wigner RCP, Budapest. His research is focused on quantum defects in semiconductor materials. He performs advanced first-principles calculations to characterize the crucial optical and spin properties of promising point defects in quantum technology applications; he also explores their interactions with perturbations in the crystal host such as strain and electric fields.
