Tina graduated with her B.S. in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2018. During her undergrad, she worked primarily in group studying magnetocaloric materials from a high-throughput density functional theory standpoint. She is now a Ph.D. student in Applied Physics at Harvard as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow. Tina’s current research projects focus on the evaluation of optical and transport properties in Weyl semimetals. More specifically, she is developing parameter-free theoretical methods involving ab initio electronic, phonon, and electron-phonon properties to calculate nonlinear and nonreciprocal optoelectronic properties in topological semimetals breaking inversion and/or time-reversal symmetry, respectively. The goal is to predict materials properties which have direct applications in many areas of active research, including photonics and quantum information science. When she’s not working, Tina enjoys reading and trying to cook.
