Byoungwoo joined the Narang Lab in 2023 as a PhD student. After completing his BS in Physics and Computer Science from Seoul National University in 2023, he is pursuing his PhD at UCLA in Physics from Fall 2023. Byoungwoo is interested in Deep Learning and AMO physics, and is hoping to utilize Machine Learning to aid experiments in Quantum computation.

His research background is in solid state physics and especially semiconductor quantum dot physics. As an undergrad, he mainly focused on Quantum dot Qubits and its fabrication in cleanrooms using E-beam lithography and has also experience in electric potential simulation of electrons within Quantum dots.

In his spare time, Byoungwoo likes to watch soccer, cook and explore new places.
